Rosebery on the Lawn
More than 100 former students returned to Rosebery for our inaugural Rosebery on the Lawn celebration, creating a wonderful evening of friendship, nostalgia and connection.
From recent leavers to women whose connection with the school stretches back over seventy years, guests enjoyed archive displays, shared memories, reconnected with old friends and explored over a century of Rosebery history.
What emerged throughout the evening was the deep affection so many former students hold for the school. Time and again, alumnae spoke about the opportunities Rosebery had given them, the confidence it had helped them develop and the friendships that have lasted a lifetime.
One alumna reflected:
"Yesterday was a wonderful day. It was so well organised and I felt very welcomed and included in the life of Rosebery."
Another wrote:
"I really enjoyed having the chance to look round the buildings, meet up with a classmate I hadn't seen for 53 years, have cake and a drink, and listen to some talented musicians."
A particular highlight was the opportunity for current students and alumnae to connect. Student volunteers spent the evening speaking with former students about their experiences and career journeys.
One student said:
"It was incredible to meet everyone and find out all about the places Rosebery can lead to."
Another reflected:
"I loved speaking to some of the alumni and getting the chance to hear their incredible stories. They were truly inspiring and made me feel even more lucky to be a part of the Rosebery community."
The evening also highlighted the work of the Rosebery Foundation, our newly established charity dedicated to supporting current and future students. As alumnae reflected on the opportunities they had enjoyed during their own time at Rosebery, many spoke about the importance of ensuring those same opportunities remain available to future generations.
That spirit of giving back is already evident. Earlier this year, fifteen alumnae returned to school as part of our Student Futures Festival, sharing their expertise, career journeys and advice with Year 12 students. Several have since expressed an interest in continuing to support students through mentoring, work experience opportunities and careers guidance.
It was heartening to see so many former students keen to remain connected to the school and to support the young women following in their footsteps.
