Year 9 is a very important time in the students’ school life as they have entered the transition year for their GCSE options. Starting their GCSE’s has enabled students to develop an understanding of the career pathways they might like to venture down when they leave school.
The values of Year 9 has taken this into account to give the students the best opportunities when they receive their GCSE results in three years’ time. The ethos of Year 9 is to ensure students understand the importance of attending school and show positive behaviour. A good work ethic is always promoted, where students show that they are prepared to learn and show resilience in all areas of school life. This is all promoted through a Growth Mind-set, and we reward students who demonstrate this in a number of ways.
Year 9 students receive a number of rewards from the pastoral team to highlight positive contributions, these include star of the week, achievement point rewards and certificates and club point rewards.
