The requirement to enter an A Level only programme of study at Rosebery Sixth Form is 6 GCSE subjects at Grade C (Grade 4) or above including English Language. In addition to this general entry requirement, some subjects have specific requirements which should be carefully noted.
It is expected that the majority of Year 12 students will study 3 A Level subjects and each student will be seen individually at Enrolment Day in August to discuss the best pathway for them.
For entry onto our vocational course (Health & Social Care) 5 GCSE subjects at Grade C (4) or above may be acceptable, depending on the A Level(s) that are chosen to go alongside the vocational option. It is expected that Year 12 students on a vocational pathway will study 2 other A Levels. Again, each student will meet with a member of the Sixth Form Team at Enrolment to discuss the most suitable pathway.
Students who do not achieve Mathematics GCSE at Grade 4 before joining the Sixth Form will be required to continue to study Mathematics in Year 12.
NB – Some courses may not run if there is insufficient interest. In some cases, if numbers are low, we may be able to offer the A Level with a reduced number of lessons.
