Taster Day (Monday 29th) – experience A Level lessons in the subjects that you have chosen – Compulsory for all Bridging Days (Tuesday 30th – Friday 3rd) – prepare for the most challenging A Level subjects; Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Each subject has its own Bridging Day ran by the department, aimed at getting you ready for that demanding ‘step up’ to A Level study – Only attended by students opting for any of those 4 subjects. Year 12 students at Rosebery Sixth Form study three to four A Level courses, dependent mainly on your performance at GCSE. Publication of GCSE results is on the 20th August this year. Remember; In order to start all A Level only courses you must achieve at least 6 A*- C GCSE passes including English to study the standard 4 A Level subjects. To study a vocational course (Applied Health & Social Care Double Award) you will need at least 5 A*- C GCSE passes. Subjects also have their own entry requirements which can be seen in the Sixth Form Prospectus. Final adjustments in respect of the appropriate route to follow will be made on Enrolment Day in early September when your courses will be considered by a member of the Sixth Form Team*. You will be sent an invitation to Enrolment Day with an individual appointment time and a copy of our Sixth Form Working Agreement. All students (internal and external applicants) should bring your GCSE results slips, your offer letter and your signed Working Agreement with you. We wish all of our potential new students the best of luck in your forthcoming GCSE exams and with your results in August. We look forward to seeing you all for another great year at Rosebery Sixth Form in September. Guy Carter Assistant Headteacher (Head of Sixth Form) *If a change in course is required, for whatever reason, we will try to accommodate this provided the criteria for the new course has been met and places are available. We therefore cannot guarantee your offer of a place at Rosebery School under this circumstance.
