We are celebrating yet another improvement in our GCSE results this year with 89% of students achieving A*- C including English and Maths, with 38% of grades at A or A*. These best ever results include 39 students who achieved 10 or more A and A* grades. Notable successes include Georgia Hasell and Rachel Thomas who achieved A*s in all 11 of their subjects, Anna Zuurmond and Freya Martin who achieved 10 A*s and Kerri Clarke, Megan Lewis, Lizzie McCaffrey and Ella McRobb who achieved 9 A*s. We look forward to welcoming the majority of our students back to the Sixth Form in September and are delighted that all have the results they need to pursue their ambitions and dreams for the future.

Many students will follow courses that are assessed by controlled and practical assessments throughout the year and, for this reason, it is vital that parents do not arrange holidays during term time. The school cannot change the deadlines for public exams or controlled assessments. Entries for the main summer exams are made at the end of February and therefore it is difficult to be definite about the dates of exams for individual students until then. Any dates given before entries are made remain provisional. All students entered for public exams will be issued with personal timetables immediately entries have been finalised. Exam board timetables can be found on each board website for students and their families who wish to anticipate when they will be sitting exams before the school issue individual timetables. Students must be confident, however, that they know which units/modules they will be entered for.
Timing for public exams
For all morning exams students need to be seated by8.45am and for afternoon exams by 1.20pm. Year 10 & 11 students must be in correct school uniform, including footwear. 6th Formers must be appropriately dressed for the school environment.
If any student is unable to attend an exam due to illness the office must be notified before 8.30am, either using the main school number 01372 720439 or the direct line number for the Exam Office 01372 845493.

In conjunction with the school, students and parents have a responsibility to ensure they are aware of the guidance, rules & regulations governing examinations. Students must, at all times, be aware that failure to familiarize themselves and adhere to these regulations could lead to disqualification from the examination and the overall qualification. These regulations and the schools expectations regarding student conduct during exams will be reiterated at the regular Exam Assemblies held in school for Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. Please find listed below, links to documents detailing regulations for the Joint Council for Qualifications and Cambridge Assessments:
