Year 6 Transition for students joining Year 7 in September 2017
First Day of Academic Year 2017 – 2018
Your daughter will be met at Reception on 4 September by members of staff and students who will direct her to the Hall for the Welcome Assembly. She will be with her tutor group in the morning and will be given her planner and timetable. If you have consented, she will also have her biometric print taken to be used in the Canteen. Lessons will start Period 5. Students will not need their PE kit on Monday 4 September.
You should have received your ParentPay activation letter and you should therefore be able to add money to your daughter’s Canteen account. The payment is called ‘Rosebery School – School Meals’. If you have any problems activating your account please contact Mrs Broome at email@example.com.
Please remember to make the payment on ParentPay if you would like your daughter to have a locker. Payment can be made in September but we will not be able to guarantee that a locker will be available on the first day of term if payment is not made before September.
The school provides all resources and exercise books necessary for lessons. Here are some additional things your daughter will need:
A large, strong school bag.
Pencil case with pencils, selection of coloured pencils, highlighter pens, felt tip pens, eraser, pencil sharpener, glue stick, ruler and scissors.
Biros including blue, black, red and green.
Mathematics set including protractor and a pair of compasses.
Scientific calculator eg Casio FX-83 model.
Hair ties for all practical lessons eg DT, Science and PE.
English/foreign language dictionaries.

Year 7 Picnic
The Parent Staff Association (PSA) are once again hosting the annual Year 7 Picnic on Saturday 9 September from 12.00pm to 2.00pm. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow parents for a chat over tea and cake, and for the students to get to know each other better over a game of hoopla! The PSA are a valued part of our community raising much needed funds for the school and the Picnic is the ideal opportunity to find out more about the PSA in an informal way. If you would like your daughter’s name to be added to her class list, please click here.
